In Pokémon Go, Gifts are used with Friends to encourage players to interact with each other. Gifts in Pokémon Go can be sent and received by people on their Friends list, allowing players to share items and Stickers with each other.
The Gift mechanic in Pokémon Go can be useful for newcomers, but some players quickly tire of receiving gifts. The only reason some people engage with Gifts is when they are tied to Research tasks, requiring them to send or receive a specific number of items.

A user on the Pokémon Go Reddit named Ice8tack showed off the Homemade Gift he created for his partner. According to his comments in the thread, it was made from foam board, which was painted followingwards.

“This DIY is really cute, I hope your partner will like it”writes one user, while another says: “This is absolutely adorable (the gift, the work that went into it, AND the contents!)”
Inside the Fortune Gift is a small Wattouat soft toy. This means that the Gift will likely be given close to the next Pokémon Go Wattouat Community Day, where players have a higher chance than usual of capturing a shiny. So a lucky Pokémon Go player will also encounter more Wattouats in real life.

The Pokémon Go community is often a haven of negativity, and it’s not always the fans’ fault. The game has many issues that need to be addressed in terms of monetization and mechanics, and these often dominate the discourse.
In that regard, it’s nice to see some positivity and love for a homemade creation from Pokémon Go fans, especially one tied to a mechanic centered around giving and receiving.
