THE Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has threatened to sue the Jakarta Metro Police to the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) if Firli Bahuri’s suspect status in the alleged gratification, bribery, and extortion case continues to be suspended. The lawsuit is planned to be filed in September 2024.
“Yes, if it’s just hanging around, it’s easy, I’ll sue again, that’s all,” said MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman to Medcom.idSunday (25/8).
Boyamin said that after the inauguration of the new president and vice president, there will be a selection process for the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He ensured that he would push for the completion of the case of the former KPK leadership during the current KPK leadership term which will end in December 2024.
“So, before that, I will definitely file a pretrial motion if this is still hanging. Maybe long before that, maybe in September I will file a motion, just wait for the momentum,” said Boyamin.
Including if there is a Letter of Order to Stop Investigation (SP3), Boyamin ensures that he will defend himself. Because, Firli’s case is emphasized as not worthy of being stopped.
“Later, when the SP3 has been issued, I will file a pretrial motion. I am sure I will win, because I believe the evidence regarding the allegations related to Mr. Firli is strong. Let’s just wait,” said Boyamin.
