“We want to make this region of the country a strong attractive pole for new tourism: mountain, ecological, sporting, specific to the region”, according to the management of the 1time edition of “Jendouba Spring” during a press conference held at the El Makhzen space. A godsend for the inhabitants of the Jendouba region, who deeply lack cultural, artistic and ecological activities… yet the region lends itself to it.
Culture, tourism and sport are an integral part of the axes of the program. Archery, camps, hikes in the forests of Aïn Draham are in order. Live music will be held by Yasser Jradi and a host of DJs, including Benjemy, Hvmza and DJ Black. These musicians adapt to an unusual and new natural environment in order to perform. Mohamed Ali Ben Jemâa will present his show “Lemkhazniya” during the opening night which will take place at the Basilica theater and in a surrounding luxury hotel. A mini-show of “Tabla and Zokra” will punctuate the camp which will be held the day following an exhibition of handicrafts, mini-clubs, petanque tournaments, bike rides, hikes in the Zeen oak forest, and in the mountain of Kroumirie. Also called the Bellfiri circuit, it is run by artisans-vendors.
Then place to hike on the road of the shepherds, and the Srarih village, marked by the presence of a beekeeper. A public library will open. The mini-clubs will include all kinds of games for adults and children as well as borderless games and prize giveaways. Place for the show “Dream” by Yasser Jradi and a storyteller “Hakaweti” on the evening of May 13, 2022.
A football tournament held at the international football complex of Aïn Draham, yoga, meditation, bike rides, ecological round tables provided by students from the sylvo-pastoral institute of Tabarka, under the leadership of Mme Amel Abbés, raffle games, ecological actions, workshops and pottery workshops held in the center of the campsite with a local craftswoman, as well as visits to the Labgâa forest and a traditional cheese dairy are planned, as announced on program for the day of May 14. A program closed by the storyteller (Rawi) and the DJ’s evening! A Sunday under the sign of sports and physical activities, early in the morning (pedaling, kayaking, horse riding), awaits the participants. Visits to Dar El Karma, the traditional souk and Tabarka (Fort Génois, les Aiguilles) are scheduled to end the event on a high note. A cocktail reception will mark the end of the festival on May 15. “Tounes Wejhatouna”, “Tunis lilkol” Giz, in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and German support among other partners are behind this initiative.
