in Pakistan Spotify A year has passed since the radar program and to celebrate its first anniversary, the Spotify Radar Fest was held at Limz University, Lahore.
Khan FM, who manages artist and label partnerships for Spotify Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, told Independent Urdu: ‘Radar Pakistan is celebrating its one-year anniversary. We have selected four emerging singers from Pakistan in a year including Hasan Rahim, Tahaji, Manu, Hasan and Roshan and we are bringing them all together on stage for the first time.’
He said that by the way Spotify radar is running all over the world but Pakistan is a country where this festival was started for the first time.
Khan FM said regarding the Radar program that Radar Pakistan is a flagship program of theirs Artists Searched for and their Music is promoted worldwide.
‘We know their lives inside out through documentaries.’
In response to a question, Khan said that there are so many male and female artists of different ages in Pakistan whose music styles are different from each other.
‘We pick an artist every three months and give them a special promotion. There are a lot of different artists but all they have to do to get on the show is make as much music as possible.’

Khan said: ‘The artists we choose don’t need to contact us, they focus on their music. We will reach out to them ourselves and we will make the whole plan for them to release music on the radar.’
Khan added: ‘There is no need for an artist to have a specific number of streams. They just have to keep working and that they really want to be artists. Be serious regarding it and want to make music my career.’
He said that he has a procedure that sees a lot. ‘Streams we don’t watch, but evaluate the entire performance of an artist.’
Khan FM said that if one is an artiste, musician or songwriter, now is the best time for them to get into music as it is a career path that can benefit an artiste the most now. ‘So keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll see you on the radar soon.’
Singers Hasan and Roshan, who performed at the festival, also praised the Spotify Radar program while talking to Independent Urdu.
Hasan said that ‘All this that you are seeing was not happening six or seven years ago. Spotify came to Pakistan in March 2021 which changed the whole game for singers. I think it will be a great thing for struggling artists.’
Roshan said that ‘no one has been artificially invited to watch this festival, but the audience has come to listen to new singers. Credit goes to Spotify for making this possible and we are very proud of it.’
