The orange cones will continue to cause headaches for road users as major disruptions loom on eastbound Highway 40, which will be completely closed over the summer.
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable indicates that the eastbound section of the A-40 will be closed between the Morgan Boulevard sector in Baie-D’Urfé and the entrance from Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland.
The closure will be effective from Saturday at 8 a.m. and traffic in the western portion will be diverted in the opposite direction to go in the opposite direction, the MTQ said in a press release.
In order to reduce the impact of this closure, the MTQ is planning dynamic traffic management with the maintenance of 3 lanes open during rush hours and 2 lanes in the opposite direction, until December.
“Since the work might cause noise, the Ministry has planned the installation of a temporary noise barrier between the sector of rue Gérard-Guindon and chemin Sainte-Marie,” added the MTQ.
