The 27-year-old left with them from the Lürzer-Alm to a log cabin, but never got there. After the police, mountain rescue with search dogs, fire brigade and drone pilots set out, the person they were looking for was encountered safely on the street around four and a half hours later.
He stated that because he was drunk, he slept for a few hours in a room in a hotel he did not know. He didn’t notice anything regarding the search and his cell phone had been down for a few hours.
Over 30 people were involved in the search for the 27-year-old shortly before 10 p.m., but cell phone tracking was unsuccessful. All the hotels in the area and the localities had also been checked without any results. Shortly following 2 a.m. on Saturday, the Austrian was picked up on the street.
