A missing swimmer at Mindelsee has caused a major fire brigade and DLRG operation in the Möggingen district of Radolfzell since Wednesday evening, September 6th. According to a report from the Radolfzell fire department on Thursday, a relative reported a missing 69-year-old. The lake was then searched with three emergency boats from the fire department and DLRG. In addition, a helicopter from the Swiss Air Rescue Service REGA and a police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera are said to have been used.
Use of drones and divers
The lake was subsequently searched with a drone and emergency divers. According to the fire department’s report, a DLRG water detection dog also searched the surface of the lake from a boat. At the same time, a search of the lake bed also took place with two sonar devices from the Radolfzell and Konstanz fire departments.

Unfortunately, the fire department reports that the full use of all available search methods was unsuccessful. The search was called off following around four hours without success. The relatives of the missing person were looked following by the rescue service and the emergency pastoral care.
The police continued the search for the missing man at Mindelsee on Thursday morning. When asked, Katrin Rosenthal, spokeswoman for the Konstanz police headquarters, said: “As long as there is still hope, we will continue to search.”
