Major Fire Incident in Lurín: Updates, Safety Tips, and News Coverage

A code 3 fire is being recorded in a tire warehouse, in the Huertos de Villena Urbanization, in Lurín. Approximately 30 units of the Fire Department are at the scene trying to control this major incident. Neighbors have reported up to 4 explosions in this warehouse, which is presumed to belong to the JHC tires company.

To date, the actual origin of this fire is unknown and authorities have not reported any deaths. Nevertheless; It is suspected that this incident began as a result of a pyrotechnician falling into the tire warehouse.

The department head Lima on, Luis Palacios, reported that this warehouse, although it has an operating permit from Pachacamac, but not from Lurín, does not have a well and a fire protection system. Likewise, he condemned the fact that personnel from this company tried to extract the tires that were still in good condition while the firefighters tried to put out the fire.

Police officers, in support of the fire department, have surrounded the entire area. Likewise, falling high voltage poles have been recorded as a result of this event, which would have started at 10 pm on last Saturday, December 16.

Unfortunately, there are few water supplies in the area making it difficult to put out the fire; However, various fire squads from other areas have been supporting along with some neighbors.
