The fire in an empty building located between two former storage silos in Schwechat on the city limits of Vienna triggered a large-scale operation by the fire brigade on Sunday night. “The Vienna fire brigade is currently with 41 men and eleven vehicles, as well as two large tankers on site to support the Schwechat fire brigade,” said the spokesman for the Vienna fire brigade of the APA. There are no injuries for the time being.
Due to a nearby railway track, rail traffic was stopped. Fighting the fire will certainly take until the morning hours, the spokesman said.
