A major fire raged this Tuesday evening in a famous French business school in Yvelines. The fire started around 8 p.m., in circumstances which have yet to be clarified.

The main amphitheater of HEC Paris, in Jouy-en-Josas, was destroyed by flames, reports Le Parisien. The roof also collapsed, and the fire spread to another school building, which was also partly destroyed. “The windows exploded, the flames were protruding from the roof, it was impressive […] All that remains is the walls of the lecture hall,” reacted a student who lives on the HEC campus.

According to him, a conference with Jacques Attali (a French business leader, economist and senior civil servant) was in progress on campus when the fire broke out.

No injuries were reported, but 150 people were evacuated, according to our French colleagues.
