The SRPA intervened this Saturday following the major fire that occurred at Thier Philippart in Amay. The owner of the house, a septuagenarian, had many animals, chicks and pigeons, but also goats and dogs.

Fabrice Renard, of the SRPA, went there. “The work is enormous” he announced. 135 animals were saved, but dozens of corpses were also discovered in the rubble.

A total of 27 rabbits, 21 poultry, 2 geese, 69 pigeons and 21 quails were taken care of. “We also found many dead animals on the spot,” said Fabrice Renard.

“Most of the dead animals we found had already died before the fire. They lived in difficult conditions, the owner let himself be overwhelmed by the events” comments the director. The rabbits were in particular in a sad state: “They were undernourished and some ate each other’s ears. »

Three associations have recovered the animals: Animal without you, the SRPA of Liège and Au Bonheur de Vica. They will be adoptable in the coming weeks.
