An accident involving a truck occurred this Monday morning shortly following 9:00 a.m. on the E411/A4 Namur – Luxembourg near Ochamps (Libin). It was an “ADR” truck transporting hazardous materials.
The latter, traveling towards Brussels, lay down on its side, hitting a lighting pole and neutralizing the traffic lanes in the direction of the capital. The road had to be closed in both directions and a diversion had been put in place in each direction:
To Luxembourg: via exit 24 Transinne then N40 and N89 to take the E411/A4 at Libramont
Towards Brussels: via exit 25 Libramont then N89 and N40 to take the E411/A4 at Transinne
The police also advised an alternative route via the N4 and the E25.
The Public Service of Wallonia (SPW) informed us at 3:35 p.m. that the road was reopened only towards Luxembourg.
Given the dangerousness of the intervention, a wide safety perimeter had been installed around the accident. This prevented us from obtaining precise information on the progress of the intervention.
At 7:25 p.m., there were no longer any queues in the area and fuel pumping was still in progress.
This one was finished at the very end of the evening.
To ensure that all danger was averted, the federal police preferred to wait until 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday to completely reopen the road.
