Valentino has teamed up with Wannaan augmented reality technology company owned by the Farfetch platform, as part of a virtual fitting application.
Exclusive fittings for Valentino.
Valentino is set to become the first luxury Maison to offer virtual ready-to-wear fittings via a demo app. Directly from their smartphone, the brand’s consumers will be able to visualize themselves wearing pieces signed Valentino.
Valentino’s WANNA Wear app pilot and VTO (Virtual Try-on) allows consumers to try-on online on a special selection of items from the Urban Flows collection Fall 2023 as well as the ValenTie tie presented exclusively on the brand’s website and from the BlackTie fall winter 2023/2024 collection.
The VTO improves the online customer experience.
The creation of this application responds to one of the main problems encountered by luxury brands for online sales: consumers want try before you buy. With the Wanna Wear application, Valentino offers its customers the opportunity to try on different clothes, different styles and to project themselves wearing these pieces, “with the greatest realism” according to the words of Sergey Arkhangelskiy, CEO of Wanna. By allowing its customers to try on clothes virtually, Valentino promotes faster and more confident buying decisions from its customers.
The virtual fitting is also a time saver for consumers, who feel less need to go to the store, and thus promotes the brand’s online sales. Not only can the customer buy at any time, but he can also access a wider selection via the website.
This immersive digital experience might also allow the brand to reduce management issues related returns and exchanges by reducing the risk of dissatisfaction upon receipt of the products.
In other words, for the luxury brand and for the consumer, the virtual fitting application optimizes the experience.
L’application Wanna Wear is available for free on the App Store.
