MAIRES NEXTCHEM EXPANDS ITS TECHNOLOGY PORTFOLIO WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF CLARIANT CATALYST

Milan, Italy (ots/PRNewswire) – MAIRE SpA announces that Conser S.p.A.part of the MAIRE Sustainable Technology Solutions business unit led by NEXTCHEM, entered into an agreement with Clariant about the development and delivery of Clariant’s next-generation maleic anhydride catalysts.

This agreement is in line with MAIRE’s strategy to expand its licensing offering to include proprietary equipment and catalysts and strengthen Conser’s global position in one of its leading technologies. This new solution will bring significant benefits in terms of energy consumption while making the product more sustainable and competitive.

In addition, the two companies are actively working to further improve maleic anhydride technology to make it more efficient in terms of its carbon footprint. Maleic anhydride technology is a key element in the production chain of biodegradable polymers such as polybutylene succinate and polybutylene adipate co-terephthalate, both of which are used in the food industry for packaging and disposable tableware and in agriculture for mulch films, providing a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastics, which is already being done has been recognized by regulatory authorities requiring its use in several countries for various applications.
