Abu Dhabi Police has identified 8 traffic violations for the speed prescribed in the emirate, and their fine ranges from 300 to 3000 dirhams, and a number of traffic points up to 23 points, calling on drivers to adhere to safe driving within the range of speeds specified on the roads, to preserve their safety and the safety of road users.
And she stressed the importance of adhering to the speed limits, not being distracted from the road while driving the vehicle in any way, leaving a sufficient safety distance between vehicles, and ensuring not to change the lane until following making sure that the road is clear.
She explained that speeding violations include: Exceeding the prescribed speed limit by no more than 20 km/h, with a fine of 300 dirhams, a violation of exceeding the prescribed speed limit by no more than 30 km/h with a value of 600 dirhams, and a violation of exceeding the prescribed speed limit. Not exceeding 40 km/h at a value of 700 dirhams, and a violation of exceeding the prescribed speed limit by no more than 50 km/h at a value of 1000 dirhams.
She added that the violations also include a violation of exceeding the maximum speed limit by no more than 60 km/h at a value of 1,500 dirhams and 6 traffic points, and a violation of exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than 60 km/h at a value of 2,000 dirhams and 12 traffic points, and a violation of exceeding the maximum limit. For the prescribed speed of more than 80 km/h, with a value of 3000 dirhams and 23 traffic points, and a fine for driving the vehicle at a speed less than the minimum speed specified for the road, if any, with a value of 400 dirhams.
Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to abide by the laws of traffic, traffic, safety and safe driving on the roads within the specified speed range to preserve their safety and the safety of road users, stressing that there is a great responsibility on the vehicle driver to avoid accidents and the resulting human losses.
It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi Police uses smart systems and modern radars in traffic control operations on the roads of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, for traffic violations, including speeding violations, and not leaving a safe distance between vehicles.
