Main industrial exports worth more than USD 500 million at the end of July

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Cables and other insulated conductors, insecticides, ethyl alcohol, aluminum products and medicines are included in the list of national products in the industrial sector, which registered the highest number of shipments in the first seven months of 2024.

The Rediex Business Intelligence Department indicated that cable products and other insulated conductors, mostly used as input for the automotive industry, were exported at the end of July this year for a value of over USD 193 million.

As for the destinations sent, the Directorate dependent on Rediex highlighted that the American continent was the largest recipient of this item, with Brazil as the main market, where USD 151 million was sent; followed by Argentina, with USD 35 million. To a lesser extent, there are the United States, Bolivia and South Korea.

The second largest item shipped abroad was insecticides and other pesticides, amounting to USD 73 million. Regarding the recipient countries, Venezuela’s participation stands out, with a total of USD 22 million. Meanwhile, Brazil added a value of USD 10 million, followed by Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay to a lesser extent.

Ethyl alcohol was the third most exported national product in the first seven months of 2024, reaching a value of over USD 61 million.

The Netherlands stands out among the markets where shipments were made, with a total of USD 22 million. Brazil and Spain also make up the majority, with around USD 12 million each, while the Philippines and Singapore are the most popular markets.

Among other products highlighted at the end of July were aluminum manufactures and medicines, suitable for retail sale, registering shipments of more than USD 37 million each.

The first product was mainly destined for Brazil, with around USD 37 million. While the medicines sector was mainly destined for Bolivia, with USD 6 million.

Other products

The report released by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) reveals that articles for transport or plastic packaging also registered a significant number of exports from January to July, since the sector exported more than USD 33 million, having as its main market the neighboring country, Brazil; with a total of USD 30 million.

Among the main exported products are uncoated paper and cardboard products, with a value of USD 32 million, followed by caps and lids of common metal, which reached a total of USD 32 million.
