Talking regarding the process of studying in France, Mai Bach confided that he encountered many advantages but also many difficulties. In 2019, highly appreciated, trusted and recommended by teachers, Mai Bach met and collaborated with script writer Maxime de Lisle to produce the first comic book of both young people: “Passage” intérieur- Voyage essentiel en Alaska.” This is also the first time that a debut comic work by a young Vietnamese artist has been welcomed in the French comic market, one of the world’s most publishing and consuming countries.

Talking regarding his companion, screenwriter Maxime de Lisle said he really liked Mai Bach’s painting style and that’s why they worked together to create the work. According to Maxime, Mai Bach’s painting style is “perfect, hyper-realistic, dynamic, able to evoke the energy of Alaska.”

Mai Bach’s drawing teacher, Mr. Derian Eric, a lecturer at Delcourt Academy of Comic Art, highly appreciated the success of the gentle, somewhat shy student from Vietnam.
