The Vienna People’s Party has asked the City Audit Office to examine the control performance of MA 10

Vienna (OTS) – “The Minibambini case should no longer have existed after the Old Vienna funding scandal. The details from the Old Vienna Process that started yesterday prove once again that the SPÖ and neos have learned nothing from the funding scandals of the past. All promises of control that the SPÖ made back then were worthless. City councilor Wiederkehr continued 1:1 exactly where the SPÖ left off under Czernohorszky,” said state party chairman City Councilor Karl Mahrer and education spokesman Harald Zierfuß in view of the current Old Vienna process.

Yesterday it also emerged that the City of Vienna had been inactive for three years in 2013, despite clear indications from an auditor, and only stopped funding for Old Vienna in 2016. “In order to prevent the systematic misuse of funding in the kindergarten sector, tolerated by the SPÖ and neos, from continuing unchecked, we have therefore asked the City Audit Office to examine in detail both the running of additional kindergarten associations and the control performance of MA 10. “The MA 10 obviously lacks both the will and the means to ensure complete control of the funding guidelines,” said Mahrer.

“City Councilor Wiederkehr is called upon to put the MA 10 control system on a completely new footing and not just do superficial control cosmetics. Kindergarten funding must no longer be allowed to seep away uncontrollably through dubious channels. This city finally needs a professional and effective funding control that also deserves its name,” concluded Mahrer and Zierfuß.
