Apple has released MagSafe Battery Pack Firmware 2.7.b.0 keep users updated in the supporting document states that Supports 7.5W power supply to charge iPhones, up from the original 5W charger.
MagSafe Battery Pack Charges Faster to 7.5W After Firmware Update 2..b.0
Previously, many users were unhappy with the 5W charging speed, when it should have been faster than that, because although Apple states that the MagSafe Battery Pack will be able to charge an iPhone up to 15W, it will still require a wired charge.
Apple has released MagSafe Battery Pack Firmware 2.7.b.0 for users to update. in the supporting document states that Supports 7.5W power supply to charge iPhones.
iPhone 12, iPhone 13 series users with MagSafe equipped and using the MagSafe Battery Pack are advised to update the MagSafe Battery Pack Firmware to support 7.5W charging.
To update the MagSafe Battery Pack Firmware, simply attach the MagSafe Battery Pack to the back of your iPhone and it will update (Apple says it takes a long time), or connect the MagSafe Battery Pack to your Mac, iPad via cable. You can also use Lightning to update (Apple says this method takes 5 minutes).
After updating, check the firmware version at Settings > General > About > MagSafe Battery Pack.
