Magog: robbed, a pot seller takes revenge by calling the police

An 18-year-old young man who was robbed by two young people who wanted to buy him cannabis products in the parking lot of the St-Hubert restaurant in Magog on Sunday, decided to launch the police on the heels of his rivals.

It all started when the seller agreed to meet a 17-year-old teenager at around 9:45 p.m. to sell him cannabis “waxpen” and gummies, following a discussion via the Snapchat application, which allows sending ephemeral messages.

The buyer showed up at the meeting place with an 18-year-old friend.

“The transaction was however very laborious and, during the exchange of the goods, the buyer “facilitated” the transaction by taking out a weapon which he exhibited and pointed at the seller.

The latter therefore gave 15 WaxPen to the buyer seeing the weapon and the buyers quickly fled in the direction of Magog,” said Lieutenant Carl Pépin, spokesman for the Memphremagog Police Board.

Frustrated, the seller decided to contact the police to report the thieves, who were able to be intercepted and arrested.

Two pellet guns imitating real firearms and two knives were seized, in addition to stolen cannabis products.

The two young people will appear, one before the Criminal Court and the other before the Youth Division, to answer to theft and weapons charges.

This was the second seizure of pellet guns in as many days in Magog, each time following an intimidation attempt.

The police therefore took the opportunity to recall the existence of a transaction zone to be monitored at all times at their headquarters, where buyers and sellers can meet safely.
