Magnussen admitted that he got excited, blaming Hamilton

Kevin Magnussen is willing to admit that the radio allegations once morest Lewis Hamilton were made in the heat of a fight, and he may reconsider his assessment of that episode.

After the start of the Spanish Grand Prix in turn 3 of the track, Hamilton fought for position with Carlos Sainz, but was forced to give in, at which point Magnussen attacked him on the outer radius of the next turn. There was contact between the cars, following which both had to go to the pits, since both the Mercedes and the Haas had punctured wheels.

“Lewis crashed into me, and he did it deliberately!” Kevin informed the team over the radio in an angry tone. However, the stewards did not punish anyone, because they considered that both riders were equally to blame for what had happened, and both rolled back due to an unscheduled pit stop.

If Hamilton managed to bounce back and finish fifth, then the Dane was less fortunate, he finished the race 17th, but following the finish he made it clear that he got excited at that moment.

“Of course, in the heat of an attack, you always get very upset. But I will review the video of that episode, see what really happened there, following which it will just be necessary to move on, – Kevin admitted. “What is said is said, but then you analyze what happened, and it often turns out that in fact everything was not as you imagined.”

Despite the poor end of the Spanish weekend, Magnussen believes that it is most important to highlight the positive moments: There is, of course, a reason to be upset. But the next day the mood will improve, and we will prepare for the next race.”
