Compared to the previous match, there were two changes in the Yaroslavl team: Ivan Chekhovich and Maxim Shalunov were replaced by Daniil Tesanov and Yaroslav Likhachev.

Then the “railroad workers” made their first power play, scored several shots, including from point-blank range, but our team failed to score. The third period started extremely badly for Lokomotiv – just 21 seconds after the start, the opponent’s quick counterattack resulted in a missed goal, 1:0. After that, the Magnitogorsk team began to counterattack and in the sixth minute almost scored a second goal, but now Isaev did not allow himself to be dominated in close combat. Until the 11th minute, despite the advantage in possession of the puck, the “railroad workers” failed to deliver it into the opposing goal and create difficulties for Nabokov. Only at the very end was it possible to storm the Metallurg goal: a second before the siren, the puck was scored, but after a long review, the goal was canceled in due to a passing hand which preceded the moment.
