Carlos Alvarado will not continue to head the country’s health portfolio, as Nicolás Maduro appointed Magaly Gutiérrez Viña as Minister of Health.
The official leader made the announcement on the followingnoon of Wednesday, February 9 through his Twitter.
“I appointed Magaly Gutiérrez Viña, Minister of People’s Power for Health, who from now on has the important mission of continuing the fight once morest the pandemic. Let’s consolidate the National Public Health System free and with the highest quality. Success!Maduro wrote.
He later sent a tweet to now former Health minister Carlos Alvarado, although he did not detail the reasons for the replacement.
“My special thanks go to Carlos Alvarado for his extraordinary and combative work in the first line of battle once morest the covid-19 pandemic. The Venezuelan people recognize your commitment, dedication and dedication. New tasks are coming soon!”, Maduro said.
Alvarado retweeted Maduro’s message, but did not comment on it.
