Asunción, IP Agency.- Authorities from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Taiwan Technical Mission in Paraguay toured the new facilities for the production of orchids in the town of Caacupé, in the department of Cordillera.
The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), Moisés Bertoni, visited the 800-square-meter property, which required an investment of approximately USD 200,000 and was made possible within the framework of the Project to Support the Production and Commercial Operation of Orchids in Paraguay ( ICDF Taiwan-International Cooperation and Development) the Directorate of Agrarian Extension (DEAg) of the MAG.
With this venture, what is sought is to strengthen the commercial production of Phalaenopsis Orchid (butterfly) in Caacupé. This greenhouse with state-of-the-art technology will allow the orchids produced by technicians from Paraguay and Taiwan to reach a superlative quality. Seedlings of this species will come from Taiwan.
During his tour, the head of the MAG was accompanied by Angélica Centurión, head of the DEAg team in orchid production, his work team and technicians from Taiwan.
