We no longer present the Mafia series, whose success dates back to the first game released in 2002. Hangar 13 seems to have the ambition to continue its momentum since a new opus is under development.

The mafia back soon?

Just today we learned that the Hangar 13 studio lost its studio manager, Haden Blackman. And it is therefore Nick Baynes who would be designated to take over a new project around a game that will be called, with tweezers, “Mafia 4”. Indeed, nothing has been officially announced yet, not even the name of the game. According to Kotaku, “Mafia 4” would therefore be in very early development and should be presented as a prequel to the trilogy. Under the code name ” Nero ”, the game would adopt the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine instead of the one that had been used for Mafia III, and more recently for the remastered edition of Mafia Trilogy, almost 2 years ago. At the time of writing, we unfortunately do not know more regarding this new project.

Mafia: A new game would indeed be under development

Announced as a prequel to the trilogy, the scenario should therefore take place before the events of the first Mafia, where the story begins in the middle of the underworld of the 30s. For those who do not yet know the series, and history to put your mouth water, you can discover the three previous opuses thanks to Mafia Trilogy. Available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Stadia, this compilation includes the three remakes in their Definitive Edition, as well as all the DLC. This is more than enough to wait while waiting to learn more regarding the progress of this next “Mafia 4”.
