Hangar 13 Studio, the developer of the Mafia series, has previously confirmed that the fourth part of the series is currently officially under development. Now it looks like we know where Mafia 4 will take place, according to the studio’s latest job applications. In a recent recruitment advertisement, the studio requested 3D Environment Artists to work on a new game from the Mafia series, and in the details of the advertisement it was described as “working on large landscape environments” on the Unreal Engine, which means that the game will not take place in cities and urban places. Or at least a large part of it. Now that description does not necessarily mean that the events of the game will leave the American borders completely. It is possible that they will take place in America naturally, but outside the civilized areas, and perhaps in an early time period as well. Expectations have previously indicated that the next part may be a prequel and present the story of the founding of the mafia in Italy, as Italy has more natural landscapes than America, which is consistent with the recent employment demand for designers who have experience in designing landscaped environments, not civilized cities. All of these expectations do not indicate any future facts, and are nothing more than speculation and judgment that are more likely to be wrong than correct. This recruitment advertisement may be for a different part in the series and not Mafia 4, and it may be for a part of the game that will take place in these locations and not the entire game.
