On January 3, 2023, Venezuela will receive the first cruise from Europe in 15 years, Tourism Minister Ali Padrón reported Thursday, indicating that it is a German ship that will depart from Spain and arrive at the island of Margarita.
“January 3 is the arrival of the first cruise ship from Europe in 15 years. The cellophane of the unilateral coercive measures that prevented the arrival of cruise ships from Europe for many years is broken. This cruise is German, but it leaves from Spain and will arrive at the port of El Guamache, in Margarita,” said the minister during a act along with Nicolas Maduro.
From the coast of Adícora, in Falcón, he indicated that the boat will bring tourists from Spain, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy.
«Turoperation» with Russia
On the other hand, Padrón announced that in October the “tour operation” with Russia will resume, directly from Moscow to Porlamar. It will have a frequency of 5 routes a week and an average of 440 tourists per flight.
The official assured that both governments are working to also enable direct flights from the Eurasian country to the Falcón state.
He also highlighted that “thanks to the excellent commercial and all kinds of relations” between Venezuela and Cuba, shopping tourism flights are made from Havana to Margarita twice a week.
“This is a high-end tourism. The average purchase of Cuban tourism is 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 dollars in 4 days, it is a purchase tourism that will boost the economy », he said.
He announced that they hope to also activate the Havana-Punto Fijo (Falcón) route, although without specifying dates.
