Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared that he is seeking a digital transition and the idea of a national social network is on the table.

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, showed that he is determined to create a social network for his country. On Friday, during the meeting for the first 100 days of management of the new governors and mayors, the president declared that he is looking for a digital transition and the idea of a national social network is on the table.

“A social network is born for Venezuela and we have thought it convenient to incorporate the benefits of this new social network, promoted by Venezuelan entrepreneurs, in the electronic government, in the ability to file a complaint, to give answers and to obtain solutions,” said the president. .

Maduro assured that Jorge Rodríguez, president of the ruling National Assembly, will be in charge of this “electronic government” in which he seeks to strengthen the management of digital platforms of the ruling party for consultations, social protection and connection with the needs of the people. . The argument that the president gives for Venezuela to have its own social network is that other platforms, such as TikTok and Facebook, do not highlight the “achievements” of his government.

“What was the country card? What was the QR code? Who was the first to apply the QR code in the world? Tell me, it was Venezuela, the Bolivarian revolution, the revolutionary government. Now the QRs use it for everything, even to buy tickets for concerts at the Sambil, at the CCCT and soon at the Poliedro,” said Maduro.

Rodríguez will have to connect the Patria System, the digital platform of the Venezuelan government, with the new social network and other systems of the Venezuelan State to improve the complaints of the population and the search for solutions.

Maduro did not provide more details regarding the social network and limited himself to saying that the country and the world must wait for its launch.
