***According to the head of state, his main rival in the last presidential elections is about to flee to Miami
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Saturday that Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who faced him in the last election and accuses him of fraud in his re-election, is “preparing to flee Venezuela.”
“Where is Edmundo González Urrutia hiding?!” the leftist leader shouted to a crowd gathered in front of the Miraflores presidential palace after marching through the center of Caracas.
“Isn’t that right? Did he win? Maybe he won a raffle to hide in a cave. He’s hiding in a cave. And he’s preparing to escape from Venezuela. Edmundo González Urrutia is taking the money and going to Miami,” he continued.
González Urrutia is in hiding and has not appeared in public since July 30.
“Don’t be a coward!” snapped the president, who on several occasions referred to his name as “Unclean.”
“She deflated, she failed, she is not wanted even in the opposition,” said Maduro in reference to the leader, whom he accuses of being behind an attempted coup d’état.
The president also referred to international calls regarding the situation in Venezuela. “Everyone knows how to manage their country, but they should not stick their nose into Venezuela because the door will be slammed on anyone who sticks their nose into Venezuela.”
