Maduro ratified the resumption of face-to-face classes after Christmas holiday

Nicolás Maduro called on Saturday the students and teachers of the country to return to the classrooms and ratified the resumption of face-to-face classes this Monday, January 10, following the Christmas holiday.

«On Monday, January 10, classes will resume. All the students, all the teachers prepared, as we already know with all the biosafety measures, we go to classes and to vaccinate ». This is what Maduro said in an audio broadcast on his Twitter account.

The president also asked representatives and teachers for “all the support” to resume anticovid vaccination days for children two years and older in educational institutions throughout the country.

“Biosafety measures, vaccination and a happy restart of classes to strengthen free quality public education in Venezuela and all education in general,” Maduro insisted.

Maduro assured that vaccination will continue to return to school

To do this, he asked school and high school workers throughout Venezuela to join the vaccination plan.

«In schools and high schools we will continue vaccinating boys and girls, starting at the age of two. We are going to strengthen public, free and quality education, “he said.

On October 25, Venezuela resumed face-to-face classes following a 19-month suspension due to the pandemic.

That same day, the anticovid vaccination plan for Venezuelan adolescents over 12 years of age was activated in 5,000 educational centers throughout the country, as reported by the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez.

Regarding vaccination for children from two years of age, the application of vaccines for this group was activated on November 8, with the Cuban Sovereign II vaccine.

Venezuela began on January 3 a booster vaccination phase once morest covid-19 with the aim of “maintaining control” of the pandemic.

According to data released by Maduro, 91% of the Venezuelan population is vaccinated, although he did not clarify whether they have one or both doses necessary to achieve immunity.
