Maduro orders measures against the attack of the “criminal dollar”

The Vice President of the Republic announced that they took a “set of actions.”

Given the increase in the parallel dollar in recent days, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, spoke on his social networks and “ordered to take measures.”

“Faced with the attack of the criminal dollar, I ordered the economic team to take measures in defense of the official rate, for a healthy trade that respects the rights of the people,” he wrote on his social networks.

He argued that there will be “merry Christmas” and that they will defeat the “mayamera mafias.”

“No one will stop economic growth,” he closed on Twitter.

The parallel dollar passed 18 bolivars at the end of this week. The official rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela also increased, although not to the same extent.

The week began at 11.53 bolivars, while it closed at 14.12 bolivars.

Before the announcement of Nicolás Maduro, the vice president, Delcy Rodríguez also wrote on social networks and pointed out that they are “taking a series of actions in defense of the exchange market and the official rate.”

This following a meeting with Tareck El Aissami, vice president of economy.

“It is important to highlight that the financial system, despite the criminal blockade, has grown considerably in 2022, increasing its deposits by 210% and its credit portfolio by 420%. Those who attack the Venezuelan economy are destined to fail,” added the official.
