Maduro in an act of greeting the Fanb orders to deepen Operation Roraima

He called for combating illegal mining in the south of the country.

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, ordered the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) to deepen Operation Roraima in defense of the environment “against criminal gangs that are engaged in illegal mining in the south of the country.”

In the middle of his greeting message to the country’s military, at the headquarters of the Strategic Operational Command, located in Fuerte Tiuna, he asked “we are going to multiply our efforts to defend nature, the jungle, rivers, for the defense of the Venezuelan ecological system.

It has been a complex year, a year also of a lot of effort, a year where the Fanb once again ratified its role as a vanguard, as the backbone of peace, stability and the union of Venezuela”, he highlighted.

The Head of State stressed that one of the greatest achievements of the country’s military forces has been the fight against the Colombian Armed Terrorist Drug Trafficking groups (Tancol).

In this regard, he explained that 10 operations were carried out in the states of Zulia, Táchira, Falcón, Apure, Barinas, Guárico, Amazonas, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro and Sucre, resulting in the recovery of machinery and weapons, and the seizure of drugs.

As well as the destruction of 441 camps, 61 laboratories, 124 logistic structures, 118 clandestine runways and 45 drug-trafficking ships.

He urged to maintain the strategic initiative and strengthen the articulation with the police forces and the Popular Power to guarantee the peace, stability and recovery of the country.

He praised the rescue and protection work of the communities affected by the rains in the months of October and November 2022.

“Today we can say that the attention to rain disaster areas was a complete success, thanks to the discipline and capacity for action of Popular Power and military power,” he stressed.
