Maduro approved more than 7 million dollars to finance research projects

Nicolás Maduro approved this Thursday a total of 7,657,093 dollars to finance 210 research projects, led by women, linked to different areas such as agri-food, pharmaceutical, hydrocarbons, telecommunications, industry and education.

“Today we are going to deliver the corresponding amount in dollars, 7,657,093 dollars, doing a lot with what we have and generating resources, generating more and more resources based on applied research in technology, health, and education,” he said in a televised event.

She also noted that 821 women are participating in these 210 projects.

He highlighted that 70 research projects are related to the agri-food sector, 41 to the pharmaceutical sector, 29 to the field of social sciences, 15 to the “dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge”, 14 to hydrocarbons, 14 to the environment, 6 to industry, 10 to the “scientific incubator” and 1 to education.

He also asked for a “communication effort” to be made to show and detail each of these projects for the general population, with an emphasis on young people.

“We must make a communication effort through networks, through the media, by institution, by university, so that the example of all these research projects, of applied technology, spreads the thirst for knowledge to generations of young people who are being educated throughout the country,” he added.

Maduro also indicated that it is important to activate “all mechanisms” to provide training scholarships in special postgraduate and higher education programs to all scientists in the country, both in national universities and for institutions abroad.
