He added that a group of mercenaries was recruited and financed by María Corina Machado and Edmundo González with the aim of causing damage to Guri.
“A very important group of mercenaries has been captured and are in the hands of the Venezuelan Prosecutor’s Office and justice, and there is full evidence of the plans of the CIA and the Spanish CNI against the peace and security of Venezuela,” he said.

In that context, he mentioned that González Urrutia was aware of what would happen in Venezuela and that “he took refuge in the Embassy of the Netherlands.”

The president added that the number of foreigners detained is not “even 10%” of the total number of alleged mercenaries captured in the country.
