For this fifth tour, the 65-year-old singer is accompanied by her Montreal pianist and accordionist Ric’key Pageot.
“Every tour I thought it was the last. It never was. We see us five tours later. She will always continue. It’s never the end for Madonna,” confided the man who has worked with the singer for more than 16 years.
During the pandemic, Mr. Pageot gave piano lessons to Madonna’s children in Los Angeles, the city where he also resides.
“I went to her house twice a week. I taught his children, his three daughters. I saw sides of Madonna that I hadn’t seen before. When I came to her house, she was very welcoming. […] I feel like I’m part of the family now,” he said.
Moreover, Madonna loves coming to the Quebec metropolis, while her last visit dates back to September 2015 with the Rebel Heart tour.
“She often tells us: “I’m French Canadian too”. She is very proud to be Quebecois. For her, it’s another homecoming. It’s like coming home,” Mr. Pageot told Noovo Info.
