Al-Marsad Newspaper: The journalist, Khaled Madkhali, revealed the details of his suspension from work in 2007 due to a question he asked to the Speaker of the Shura Council at the time.
His suspension details
Madkhali said on the program “That with Sami Al-Jaber”, when asked regarding the suspension from work for a week due to an episode with the Speaker of the Shura Council, Saleh bin Humaid: “I had a program called the Majlis, and its material depended on what the Shura Council used in its discussions.”
And the Saudi journalist added, “Through the program, we host a Alex Reed who represents the Shura Council and another who represents the party in which the issue is being discussed.”
Madkhali added, “Before the king’s annual speech in the Shura Council, the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid, agreed to be my Alex Reed.”
The question that stops me
Madkhali continued, “We had a question in the episode: Are you satisfied with the performance of the Shura Council during the last period? All viewers’ communications indicated dissatisfaction with the Shura Council, and they were saying that there was a gap.”
Madkhali said, “I may have missed the reaction in this episode but I don’t regret the way I asked questions because I was asking people’s questions.”
He pointed out that Bin Humaid was answering questions and that he was satisfied with the episode, but he was surprised the next day that he was arrested and said: “I turned following I was one of the best broadcasters in Saudi Arabia and people used to describe me as Blary King into someone who has become in the trash.”
The person who brought it back
Madkhali noted that it was the Shura Council speaker at the same time who contributed to the lifting of the ban on him and expressed his dissatisfaction with the channel’s handling of the media.
