Mades cancels lost safety data sheets used to falsify environmental impact statements

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Mades) reported the cancellation of the safety data sheets with numbers 110451 to 110950, missing in March of this year, which were being used for the production of Environmental Impact Statements with false content.

The batch of documents lost in March totals 500 pages and their duplicates.

The printing material is used for the production of Environmental Impact Statements, Resolutions, Generic Environmental Management Plan Records, responses to Consultation Notes, Technical Cadastre Registry of Environmental Consultants and Non-Hazardous Certificates.

The cancellation of the lot was reported through the General Directorate of Environmental Quality Control and Natural Resources (DGCCARN), following the verification of documents with false content related to these documents.

The safety sheets received by the DGCCARN on December 19, 2022, according to Memorandum DA No. 034/2024 of the Administrative Directorate, have been annulled due to the appearance of documents with false content, detected as missing in March of this year, so that any content that could be found in them lacks validity and legitimacy, indicates the Mades statement.

This situation has been reported to the Legal Advisory Department of MADES, which has proceeded to file the corresponding complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offenses of Production of an Inauthentic Document and Use of a Public Document with False Content.

It is stressed that any documentation contained in the safety data sheets numbered 110451 to 110950 lacks validity and legal force and public and private institutions and the general public are requested to be aware of this procedure, the statement concludes.
