Madbouly: Global crises pose a threat to the security and stability of many countries, including Egypt

Egypt – The Egyptian Prime Minister stated that “the convening of an Egyptian-European conference comes in the wake of international tensions witnessed by the international community, in addition to the continuation of regional crises that have affected the stability of a number of countries in the region.”

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said during a dialogue session on the second day of the Egyptian-European Investment Conference that “these crises pose a serious threat to the security and stability of many countries, including Egypt, in addition to international challenges such as climate change and the impact of international tensions on the stability of production chains, in addition to the increasing role of modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence.”

He added, “Despite the serious challenge these issues pose to all countries, Egypt seeks to deal with these issues and international crises from the perspective of the promising opportunities they represent for comprehensive economic development and reform that will enable Egypt to obtain its fair share of growth and comprehensive development.”

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen inaugurated the Egyptian-European Joint Investment Conference in Cairo yesterday, Saturday.

The activities of the important event will continue for two days, from yesterday until today, Sunday, June 30, under the title “Unleashing Egypt’s Potential in a Rapidly Changing World.”

During the conference, Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Union regarding the “first tranche of the macroeconomic support mechanism and budget deficit support worth one billion euros.”
