Macron still on the rise, ahead of Le Pen, Pécresse and Zemmour, according to a poll

Emmanuel Macron, now declared candidate, has progressed by two points in one week to 30% of voting intentions in the first round of the presidential election, ahead of Marine Le Pen, Valérie Pécresse and Eric Zemmour, according to a “rolling” Ifop-Fiducial poll for Paris Match, LCI and Sud Radio published on Monday.

The Head of State, whose candidacy was formalized by a letter to the French last Thursday, would obtain 30% of the vote in the 1st round, ahead of Marine Le Pen, who also won two points, at 18%.

Eric Zemmour loses another 1.5 points, to 12.5%, which allows Valérie Pécresse, who remains at 13%, to take third place.

In a left still scattered, the Insoumis Jean-Luc Mélenchon takes a point at 11.5%, far ahead of the ecologist Yannick Jadot who remains at 5%, and the communist Fabien Roussel at 4%.

Socialist Anne Hidalgo remains at 2.5% of voting intentions.

In the second round, Emmanuel Macron would win in all the configurations tested: 56% once morest 44% once morest Marine Le Pen, 61% once morest 39% once morest Valérie Pécresse, 64% once morest 36% once morest Eric Zemmour, and 63% once morest 37% once morest Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

A “rolling” survey is a survey “continuously carried out on the principle of a rolling accumulation of waves of daily surveys”, recalls the Ifop institute. Today’s survey wave is combined with the waves of the previous two days.

Survey carried out from March 3 to 7 with a sample of 1,506 people representative of the population residing in metropolitan France aged 18 and over, according to the quota method. Margin of error, depending on the target score, from 1.4 to 3.1 points.

Voting intentions do not constitute a forecast of the outcome of the vote. They give an indication of the balance of power and dynamics on the day of the survey.
