“Macron Resignation” chanted by the audience at the Accor Arena in Bercy

During a “listening evening” organized in Paris by the American rapper this Sunday, February 25, the public called for the resignation of the President of the Republic.

A slogan chanted or heard even during concerts. After a chaotic day at the Agricultural Show on Saturday, Emmanuel Macron was targeted by some of the spectators at the Accor Arena in Bercy this Sunday, February 25 who attended the Parisian event of Kanye West, now called Ye.

The rapper, accustomed to polemics and controversies, organized a “Listening Expreience” listening party for his new album, Vultures 1. However, as dozens of witnesses shared on social networks, the public at the Accor Arena de Bercy chanted “Macron resignation” during the event.

Several precedents

This is not the first time that the President of the Republic has been booed during a musical event organized in Paris. In June 2023, the audience at Global Citizen, a concert organized on the song of Mars bringing together Lenny Kravitz, Billie Eilish and even HER, chanted “Macron resignation”.

In April of the same year, Norwegian singer Girl in Red asked the audience at the Olympia to teach her a few words of French. Immediately, the crowd shouted: “Macron resign”.
