From Saudi Arabia and with love. The ex-president Mauricio Macri was left with two key places when thinking regarding the new government of Javier Miley and demonstrated the power he will have in the coming administration. Moments ago it was confirmed that Patricia Bullrich will be the Minister of Security and everything indicates that Luis “Toto” Caputo will command the Economy portfolio.
One of the central questions following the victory of the libertarians in the second electoral round revolved around what the political partnership between Milei and Macri would be like, following allying to defeat Sergio Massa and Unión por la Patria. Part of the answer was found this Thursday, following it was confirmed that Bullrich will occupy Security and Caputo is the most installed name for the Treasury Palace.
Both are macristas with a black palate and from the first hour. The former president is traveling through Arabia, while his new partner intersperses interviews, meetings and calls with other peers ahead of December 10.
Bullrich’s confirmation left out Victoria Villarruel, the vice president of La Libertad Avanza, whom Milei himself described as the most qualified to head the Ministry of Security. Not only did it not happen, but in the Defense area, where there was also talk of her presence, it might be for former senator Federico Pinedo, another member of the yellow party since hour zero.
One of her statements from recent days plays in Villarruel’s favor, where she stated that she would only be Vice President. Bullrich, for her part, stated last Monday: “I think that when one was in a place, going through the same thing twice is not good. “You shouldn’t fall in love with the things you did.” The statement came following she was asked if she would be Minister of Security. 72 hours later, her thoughts changed.
With the confirmation of the former presidential candidate and the possibility that “the Messi of finance”, as Macri himself called him, occupies the Treasury, Macriism would take power in two of the eight ministries of the next libertarian government. The remaining are Foreign Relations (where the confirmation of Diana Mondino is missing), Interior, Defense, Justice (Mariano Cuneo Libarona has already been ratified), Human Capital (Sandra Pettovello) and Infrastructure (Guillermo Ferraro).
Milei is left without a “dollarization guru”: Caputo’s possible arrival at the Economy Department would distance Emilio Ocampo from the BCRA
Two men from Schiaretti will be part of Milei’s cabinet
During the campaign that elapsed between the first round and the runoff, Juan Schiaretti did not directly call for any candidate to vote. However, in one of his first public appearances following being left out of the race for the Casa Rosada, he criticized Sergio Massa, something that UxP took as indirect support for the libertarian. Macri’s words still resonate when asked regarding the provincial president’s preference: “El Gringo knows what to do”.
This Thursday the outgoing governor of Córdoba was mentioned once more, but by the two officials who will be part of the assembly of La Libertad Avanza. The first of the names was that of Franco Mogetta, who will occupy the Secretary of Transportation under the Ministry of Infrastructure. In Córdoba, Mogetta held that provincial position.

The second name caused more surprise. This Thursday it was learned that Carolina Píparo is finally not going to direct ANSES, beyond the fact that she was one of the first names that she revealed and that she had ratified a meeting with Fernanda Raverta for November 27. In her place she will be Juan Giordanocurrent finance minister of Schiarettism.
Beyond the proper names, Milei confirmed that his complete cabinet will be known on December 10. With new names and others not so much, the recently elected president diagrams who will be the people who will be in charge of governing a country in crisis. His questions regarding caste were very far away.
