macOS 13.3 available in final version: bug fixes to the program

The final version of macOS 13.3 is now available. This update introduces a few new features and fixes several lingering bugs.

Like on iOS 16.4 coming at the same time, 21 additional emojis appear. There’s a shaking man’s head, a donkey, a goose, a wing, a jellyfish, a hyacinth, a flute, maracas, high five hands, hearts in new colors …

Some of the new emojis and the new “Dim flashes” option

iCloud Shared Photo Library users now have a Duplicates album where duplicate photos and videos are listed. Convenient for quick sorting. A new accessibility option, “Dim Flashes,” dims heavily flashing videos so they don’t bother people who are sensitive to strobe effects.

The rest of the changes are mainly made up of adaptations for regional languages and bug fixes. Among the problems corrected, there is that of the gestures of the trackpad which were no longer recognized suddenly – this had even pushed a developer to create a small parade while waiting for a proper solution.

A problem that prevented VoiceOver from working following using the Finder is ancient history. Also, Apple doesn’t mention it in the release notes, but file sharing via SMB protocol works fine once more.

Also, Apple is providing Studio Display firmware version 16.4 (but no release notes, so we don’t yet know what’s behind this update).
