Still on export data, the report released in July 2023, the machinery and equipment production sector reached a total export value of US$ 1.3 billion. This number represented an impressive 35.7% increase compared to April, which in turn had recorded a 21.2% drop compared to March 2023.
In addition to the export result, the ABIMAQ report, showed growth in net revenue from sales of machinery and equipment, marking the second consecutive increase in this type of analysis. As a result, the second quarter of the year saw growth of 2.7%. The highlight this time was the increase in sales in the domestic market, representing the first time in the year that the improvement in performance was driven by this factor. Meanwhile, exports, which had been showing strong growth, even compared to the previous year, registered a drop in this period. The recent improvement in the results of the Brazilian machinery and equipment industry can be attributed to the increase in sales of components for capital equipment, machines for infrastructure and equipment for the logistics and civil construction sectors.
Regarding the performance of the industrial machinery and equipment segment, the 17th Sobratema Study of the Brazilian Construction Equipment Market revealed optimistic perspectives in sales projections in this sector for the year 2023. As highlighted in the report, estimates indicate the possibility of an increase of approximately 4% in sales and revenue throughout 2023, covering both yellow and yellow line machines. the entire category of equipment intended for the construction industry.
José Antônio Valente, company director equipment rental Aluga Máquinas Sul states that the 21.3% reduction in the result for the month of July might influence companies in the sector to look at the national market as an opportunity to increase revenue, whether in the production and sale of large equipment such as also for scaffolding rental and other smaller equipment. “The national market can compensate for some of the loss of revenue for companies in the sector that were focused on exports.”
