With less than a week to go until Apple’s special event, the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo raised doubts regarding the possibility of the company launching new models of MacBooks equipped with the chip “M3” before the end of this year.
Kuo’s statement, published on X (formerly Twitter), contradicts previous rumors and the expectation that many users had that Apple might present devices with a new chipset next month — according to Mark Gurman, from Bloombergsaid a few months ago.
It seems that Apple will not release new MacBook models (equipped with M3 series processors) before the end of this year.

It appears that Apple will not release new MacBook models (equipped with “M3” series processors) before the end of this year.
However, it’s worth noting that the analyst’s statement specifically mentions “MacBook models,” leaving the possibility open for “M3” desktops (like the iMac) to still make an appearance in 2023.
One possible reason for this uncertainty is supply chain challenges. TSMC, as we know, would be facing high demand for 3 nanometer chips — and Apple would have guaranteed 100% of their production.
The “M3” itself is predicted to be a huge leap forward for Apple Silicon. According to rumors, the processor will offer significant improvements in performance and energy efficiency when compared to the M2 — largely due to this new manufacturing process.
Historically, the Cupertino giant has introduced new generations of chips with the 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac mini, making these models possible candidates for the debut of the next chipset in the line.
While the uncertainty surrounding the launch of Macs with the “M3” continues, we eagerly await Apple’s next steps. Bets?
