The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has assembled a dynamic delegation consisting of 19 distinguished Macao companies to take part in the highly anticipated third phase of the “136th China Import and Export Fair” (commonly known as the “Canton Fair”), which is taking place from 31 October to 4 November in the bustling city of Guangzhou. This initiative is aimed at assisting local companies in broadening their reach within the mainland and global markets.
“Macao Pavilion” Was Set Up to Promote Macao Brands and Macao-Hengqin MICE Advantages
In a strategic move, IPIM established an impressive 180-square-metre “Macao Pavilion” during this year’s Canton Fair to effectively showcase Macao’s allure as a premier investment destination. This Pavilion serves not only as a platform to highlight Macao’s favorable investment landscape and its bright development prospects, but also spotlights IPIM’s extensive services. Additionally, it emphasizes Macao’s pivotal role as a commercial cooperation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSC), while promoting Macao’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) advantages alongside the high-quality offerings from “MinM Plaza,” reinforcing the development possibilities in both Macao and Hengqin.
The 19 participating Macao companies hail from diverse sectors including big health, food trade, biotechnology, and trade agencies, reflecting the region’s vibrant economic landscape. As part of its ongoing commitment, IPIM will persist in supporting local enterprises in engaging with international exhibitions to facilitate market growth. This approach not only encourages broader participation from additional companies but also aims to further advance a suitably diversified economy for Macao.
Over 250 Companies Participated in the Third Phase of the “Canton Fair”
The Canton Fair, established in 1957, has solidified its reputation as the oldest and most extensive comprehensive international trade event in China, taking place biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn. The fair unites a vast array of global commodities with international buyers, providing an essential exhibition and trading platform for both domestic and overseas enterprises.
This particular phase of the Canton Fair, conducted from 15 October to 4 November, is organized around the themes of “Advanced Manufacturing,” “Quality Home Furnishings,” and “Better Life.” It boasts participation from over 30,000 exhibitors showcasing their innovations offline. Notably, 257 foreign entities from 29 countries and regions joined the third phase of this impressive event.
