The Les Fous de la Rampe theater group presents its new show “Mac Orlan Paris-Brest”, this Friday evening at Mac Orlan.
This is not the first time for Les Fous de la Rampe since 1988. This time, the amateur theater group pays tribute to Pierre Mac Orlan (1882-1970), writer and academician, for the 140th anniversary of his birth. The initial idea came from Brieg Haslé-Le Gall (company administrator). He entrusted the writing of the play to Anne Le Guen, who is none other than the granddaughter of the painter Pierre Péron, a friend of the writer who had a special relationship with the city of Ponant.
Multidisciplinary show
“This multidisciplinary show between theatre, music and song features Mac Orlan at the end of his life”, says Brieg Haslé-Le Gall. “In the solitude of his office in Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin, he remembers great moments: the days of the cabarets on the Montmartre hill, the guinguettes on the banks of the Marne and, for act three, we are in Brest , in a dark cabaret, by Recouvrance of course! “. A show that evokes the themes dear to the writer: “The world of the night, the phantasmagorical characters, what touches on the social fantasy”.
A show and an exhibition
Eighteen people take part in the show directed by Thierry Scattolin and co-produced by Compagnie Poivre & Celte. A portrait of Mac Orlan will come to life live, under Briac’s brush. This cartoonist, who produced a comic strip with Arnaud Le Gouëfflec, will sign his book, La Nuit Mac Orlan (Ed. Locus Solus), at the end of the performance in the hall, in place of a dedicated exhibition.
Several authors of the collective work Les Brest de Mac Orlan directed by Patrick Monéger, from the Society of Pierre Mac Orlan Readers, will also be present.
