He maintained that he has always felt like a “deeply liberal” person and not from the Historical Pact, from where he has been receiving signals in recent days with the intention of forming the team to achieve the Administration of the capital of Valle del Cauca, and concluded that from outside it can contribute much more at this particular moment that Cali is going through.
“I appreciate the generosity of businessmen and local leaders who suggested that I launch myself. To the powerful social movement of the Historical Pact, which has been immensely generous, but as I spoke with some of its leaders: I have never belonged to the Pact and I would be a kind of usurper of its democratic processes. From a position, like the one I have always maintained, deeply liberal, I think I can contribute more from the outside to this very difficult moment in our city”, concludes the trill.
It is worth mentioning that the communicator has been making the clarification that separates her from the Historical Pact for several days, due to the constant proposals that have been made to her primarily. Just yesterday, a video was released of an event held in the Jairo Varela Square in which Senator Wilson Arias and House representative Alfredo Mondragón can be recognized.
During this event, the senator stated: “Yes, I have been looking for Mábel Lara, including not only me, several colleagues have helped me. We are looking for several candidates who we believe have not been from our tradition, you have never seen me with Mábel coming to these events, nor in the strike, Mábel was not with us on paper, but I recognize that she can get more votes than some of my companions whom I love perhaps more than Mábel, I candidly say so. So I think we have to look for people who can summon not only us, those of us who are more red, those of us who are more left-wing, I believe that what is useful for the city is a candidacy that can summon many other people”.
In the leaked video, no further details are given regarding this possibility, but, once once more, the communicator wanted to make it clear enough that she does not plan to ally herself with the Pact, even though one of the files closest to President Gustavo Petro mentioned her as an option, as is former senator Gustavo Bolívar.
He added that this would be a “terrible” match for those who have plundered the region’s resources for so many years.
“I am going to say something terrible: Margarita Rosa de Francisco to the Mayor of Cali. Mábel Lara to the government of Del Valle. Or vice versa… terrible for those who have looted that city and that department for decades,” Bolívar wrote on his Twitter account.
However, as has already been reiterated, the communicator did not take long to speak to El País and to publish on her profile on the blue platform that this would not happen. “I have not been from the Pact, I am not from the Historical Pact and they are right, it would be a terrible idea,” she commented flatly.
