Today, Wednesday, a parliamentary delegation of senators visited the Maamoura Hospital for Psychiatry and Drug Treatment in Alexandria, affiliated to the Ministry of Health, to monitor the level of health services provided to patients.
Dr. Muhammad Othman Zuhdi, Director of Al-Maamoura Psychiatric Hospital, received the parliamentary delegation which included Representative Ihab Abu Kalila, Representative Dina Al-Hilali and members of the Senate, and they met with a group of people recovering in hospital who expressed their gratitude for the support given to them throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
The delegation inspected the internal services of the hospital and the addiction treatment center, which includes the detoxification department and the psychological rehabilitation department, as well as the harm reduction unit, as well as the meeting room of the ‘hospital.
The hospital director said that services extend to neighboring governorates of Alexandria, such as Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh and Matrouh, stressing that the hospital regularly provides follow-up and rehabilitation services to those recovering .
For his part, MP Ihab Abou Kalila appreciated the services provided to patients and those recovering at the hospital. He also praised the work system, the quality of the services provided and the staff’s concern to provide full attention and care to patients, emphasizing his sincerity. full support for initiatives and programs provided by the hospital that address mental health and provide avenues for treatment and recovery from addiction.
The parliamentary delegation praised the role of the hospital in the treatment of addictions, particularly among young people, and in providing all forms of support to those who are recovering, in accordance with the strategic plan for the treatment of addictions to which the State Egyptian attaches great importance, in addition to the rehabilitation of adult psychiatric patients and their reintegration into society, which contributes to improving the quality of life of citizens.
This took place in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Essam, head of the addiction treatment department at Al-Maamoura psychiatric hospital, Shaima Muhammad, social worker at the addiction treatment department, Yousri Rashad, assistant at the Al-Maamoura psychiatric hospital, and Yasmine Jamal, Director of the public relations department.
