Vienna(OTS) –

A temporary use concept has been developed for the empty office building in District 22: 80 employees of the City of Vienna’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency (MA 35) will temporarily move to the building at Schrödingerplatz 1 in September.

The addition of 105 new employees exceeded the department’s space capacity. The new site will be leased adjacent to the existing headquarters in Brigitnau in partnership with the Council’s Building and Construction Management Department (MA34).

Until then, a quick temporary solution must be found: “New admissions for more citizen employees who need to work to go to school will start in September. I am pleased that the departments of the City of Vienna are working together to find solutions. Utilizing vacant buildings saves resources. so Christoph Wiederkehr, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Education, Youth, Integration and Transparency .

Existing Civic Team Assistants will be redeployed as they do not have direct customer contact. “Within a 6-month period, extensive customer information regarding address changes and accessibility did not appear sustainable to us”so Department Head Georg Hufgard-Leitner. The vacant space will be filled by new employees and their students.
