**Interview with M. Martišius: Pursuing a Vision for LRT**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Martišius. You mentioned in a recent statement that you’ve put a lot of thought into your pursuit for the LRT General Director position. What was the decisive factor that motivated you to apply again?
**M. Martišius:** Thank you for having me. It was truly a matter of deep consideration. Ultimately, I believe in what I’m proposing for LRT. If you feel strongly about something, you have to take action. The outcome is out of my hands, but I believe my strategy can bring real value to the organization, and that’s why I’m pursuing this position again.
**Interviewer:** You previously participated in the LRT general director competition and did not receive any votes from council members. How do you plan to approach this competition differently?
**M. Martišius:** While I didn’t receive support last time, I learned a lot from that experience. I’ve refined my program and objectives further, and I truly believe they present an interesting and effective strategy for LRT. My focus is on articulating that vision clearly to the council this time around.
**Interviewer:** The competition is intensifying, especially with Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė seeking re-election. What do you think sets your candidacy apart from the others?
**M. Martišius:** Each candidate brings their own perspective and experience, but I strongly believe in the innovation and effectiveness of my proposed strategy. I aim to demonstrate its potential to address the challenges LRT faces. I’m ready to offer a fresh perspective.
**Interviewer:** We understand the selection process will be open and public this time, allowing citizens to see candidates present their plans. How do you feel about this increased transparency?
**M. Martišius:** I welcome the transparency. It’s crucial for building trust in the leadership of LRT. Public presentations offer candidates an opportunity to engage with not just the council but the public as well, fostering a dialogue that can lead to a stronger direction for the organization.
**Interviewer:** The deadline for applications is approaching, and one candidate remains unknown. Is there anything you wish to convey to those who may still be considering applying?
**M. Martišius:** I encourage anyone with a passion for media and public service—who meets the requirements—to step forward. LRT plays a vital role in Lithuanian society, and new perspectives can only enrich our national broadcaster.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Mr. Martišius. We look forward to seeing how the competition unfolds.
